Bastard Swordsman

“Fight moderately, play hard — that’s the ideal isekai life.” A bastard sword is a weapon of awkward length. Compared to a short sword, it’s clumsy for fine movements; compared to a long sword, its reach feels lacking. It can do everything, yet excels at nothing. I, Mongrel — a middle-aged guildsman who favors such a half-baked sword — have a dream: to live a lazy, peaceful life. If I wanted, I could use my Gift to become unstoppable, or revolutionize this world with my modern knowledge. But I won’t. Working casually at the guild, enjoying cooking and fishing… and sometimes being helpful to others — that’s enough for me. This is the story of a laid-back, halfhearted man’s not-so-adventurous adventure.
