After being deeply hurt by people in the city, Haerang heads to her maternal grandmother’s hometown—a place filled with childhood memories. There, she reunites with Miro, a special friend who once treated her with genuine kindness. Though she wavers under the village’s overwhelming curiosity and the subtle exclusion from local youths, Haerang keeps taking two steps forward, trying to untangle her relationships with others. But Miro always retreats three steps back. Why? Is it because I liked you? Didn’t you like me too? Miro has lived with discrimination for being mixed-race, along with a deep fear of people leaving. Haerang, frail since childhood, has endured lifelong reverse discrimination because of her weak body. Daeseok, judged for his long hair and unconventional style. Okhee, rejected by her parents for not being “ladylike enough.” This is a story about young people, each carrying their own scars and prejudices, as they comfort one another—and learn how to survive, together.
